So Yesterday was a dull day, went to the city in the morning to get the last of Hammys party supplies, pick up some crap that I needed and came home . spent $8 in gas to do a 60 mile round trip and was only in the city for about 20 minutes, spent $21 at the dollar store and that was about it, came home, Hammy played video games while I cleaned the house ( I prefer cleaning it myself, its quicker that way lol )
Today . aside from retiring, my friend came over and helped me fix the hood on the Mighty Cavalier , the hood latch broke last winter so everytime I had to add oil or check the motor it meant crawling under the front of the car and manually releasing the hood which usually involved a pinched finger , so today we rigged up a hood latch on the front of the car so now I dont have to crawl under anymore, and no more pinched fingers.
So I have stated a few times in this Blog that I am having some issues with the Aveo ( Lady Bug) car, well its fixed now and runs good, the only real issue now is I cant comfortably drive the car anymore, see it was my wifes pride and joy, oh how she absolutely loved that little car , and well when I sit in it or drive it , I see my wife, and not in a good way, the memories are very painful and I end up pulled over on the side of the road crying hard with grief, I cant help it, it hurts bad.
So my friend made me an offer a month or 2 ago , to swap cars , he has an Aveo , same year, he just rebuilt the motor in it so it is fresh, I took him up on his offer because of the difficulty I have driving the one I currently have, so tomorrow, he is taking his Aveo into the city to put a new windshield in it (I will be driving his truck into the city) , after that he is taking it to be safetied ( it has to go through a Government inspection ) , it will pass , after that he will take the car out to my place and we will sign the insurance cards over to each other and I will have a shiney blue Aveo with a rebuilt motor and I wont break down emotionally while driving it because it wont be associated with my wife.
My friend is a good friend, I am going to store another Aveo that is an insurance write off in my backyard for him, its a parts car for both of us , the reason it will be in my backyard and not his is: #1 he doesnt really have much of a yard, #2 he wants to put a project truck in his garage that he has stored out on a friends farm, #3 it is the very least I can do for him as he has helped me out in a very big way by offering to swap cars, #4 he is the reason I have the Cavalier , he GAVE it to me 3 years ago when my ford basically blew up and Hammy was in the hospital with a brain tumour, how could I possibly not offer to put a parts car in my backyard? I can never repay his kindness and generosity or his unwavering friendship.
I will probably cry a little when he takes the Ladybug , but it is better this way and I know my wife will be watching over me and understand why I traded her beloved car. to be honest I am saddened that it has to be this way, I fixed the Ladybug with the intent of keeping it and taking great care of it for my wifes honour and memory , but my emotions are still raw and I just honestly can not sit in the Ladybug without losing it completely .
I will take photos of the new Aveo once it is in my possession . the funny thing about all this, originally I had agreed to swap cars for the white Aveo he has, I have not even seen the blue one, apparently it is not a hatchback, it is a 4 door sedan , he decided to take the motor he rebuilt out of the white one and put it in the blue one because the blue one is the nicer car and is fully loaded, power everything, heated seats the works.
So I just googled the car and grabbed a picture from the web to show you what I am talking about ..
so the car I am getting is like the one above, only I dont know what shade of blue my new car is , as I said I did the deal sight unseen, but if my friend says its a beautiful car then I believe him, he has NEVER lied to me or steered me wrong in the 8 years I have known him. that and he is master mechanic , hence why he is also my go to guy for mechanical help , and he is also a perfectionist , so if something isnt just right he will make it so or it will drive him batsh!t crazy , he looked over my aveo that he will soon own and was already making plans to pop the dents from the hail damage.
So thats what I have been up too the last couple days, I will take pictures of my new car when I see it lol , so thats all for now, Remember Folks: express your love often, never take tomorrow for granted, and be kind to others.
