Dog Days Bonfires

Today was a rather busy day out here on the prairies, first I changed the front tire on our son "Hammy"s bike, then fixed my wifes bike,after that I went visiting awhile with my friend down the road apiece, that visit proved fruitful as he had an old lawnmower sittin out behind his shed, said if I could have it if I wanted, if not he was gonna send it to the dump,so me being kinda iffy about things going to the local landfill (Id rather recycle, reuse, re purpose things),I took the mower home, changed the spark plug, added gas, primed it with a shot of ether and it fired right up, got a good mower for free!!

The rest of the afternoon was spent building a dog house out of scrap wood & some left over shingles, this is the dogs new digs

Yep it is all painted, a bright yellow, the only color I had on hand,(also got the paint free from Sarcan recycling depot)the only new item on this dog house is the metal ring I bolted on the upper right corner, total investment into the dog house, is $2.78 for the metal ring.

it should be said that that bright yellow paint aint oil or latex, its actually enamel, when it dried it went solid like concrete, should stop any wood rot for years to come! took just 4 hours from start to finish (including paint) to construct the dog house, and wouldnt you know it, our dog doesnt like it!

After a casual day,& building the dog house, my wife decided that we should have a wiener roast,and our son "Hammy" was all for that as there was also marshmellows to be had! so I cleaned out the back yard fireplace, stacked some logs and poured about a cup full of gasoline over the wood and threw a match....gotta love that WHUMP and small mushroom ball of fire, it is the first bonfire of the season, many many more to come! best part is I didnt burn down the back yard !!

Country Fun

Every once in awhile the redneck boi in me comes out and its time for some serious off road mud boggin fun with the mighty Bronco, this is what you can do with a truck that has a gas guzzling V8 under the hood, just having some fun blowing off steam in the mud bog down on Jenkins farm, my wife thinks Im insane and wouldnt get in the truck with me, we had Jenkins tractor on stand by just in case I sank lol

think this up coming weekend Ill get a few of my buddies (partners in crime) together and throw a mud bog party, found a field about a mile north of our house that is flooded with water at least 2 feet deep should be tons of mud there and enough space to run quite a few trucks at the same time, of course my wife wont get in the truck when Im playing in mud, she is always afraid the truck will sink, so her and a few other ladies can man the BBQs and cameras while the rest of us hit the mud for some good old fashioned juvenile senseless mud bogging fun!!


If you think thats insane , just wait til you see the next picture!! this is JDs toy, shes been working on it for 4 years and just got it running! its still a off road virgin! Cant wait to catch a ride in it, and if I put my son up as collateral maybe shell let me take it for a boot across a field, Dang I thought I had a cool truck but her 4x4 makes mine look like a wuss mobile! Im gonna have to throw a lift kit and bigger mudders on my truck just to earn my coolio butch truck owner points card back! lol

welp guess thats about it for today, now Im off to explain to my wife just why I must build up my truck more and why its money well spent, I mean my whole Butch status is on the line here!! I have to out do JD lol
